How do I convert an annual salary to an hourly rate?
Divide the salary by the hours you actually work in a year. At 40 hours a week for 52 weeks that is 2,080 hours, so a $60,000 salary is about $28.85 an hour.
Does unpaid time off change my hourly rate?
Paid time off does not change it, since the salary covers those hours. Unpaid time off does: fewer paid hours for the same salary raises the effective rate, which is why the calculator has a field for unpaid days.
How do I convert an hourly wage to a yearly salary?
Multiply the hourly rate by hours per week and weeks per year. At $25 an hour for 40 hours across 52 weeks, that is $52,000 before taxes. Switch the calculator to "hourly to annual" to do it directly.
